CLIMATE AND SEASON
The Eastern Cape of South Africa is a healthy Malaria and Bilharzia free area. No precautions need to be taken.
This summer rainfall area (November - March) has an annual rainfall of 17 inches a year. These rains fall mainly in the form of thundershowers. Very seldom do we have rain in our colder winter months, which make up our main hunting season. In the warm summer month’s temperatures can vary from 50°F - 105°F in the heat of the day. Average day temperatures of around 80°F. During winter months, the temperature can drop below freezing at night or early morning, but warms up during the day to an average temperature of around 60°F. Warm clothing for the early mornings is advisable. Our cooler months of April-September, which incorporates our fall, winter and spring, are the main hunting months. This is a natural choice for hunters.
