Lalapa Safaris is owned and operated by Ray and Theo Kemp. This family run outfit has its base on the Langverwacht ranch, home of the Lalapa Safari Lodge, which together with the surrounding hunting grounds has made up the Kemp family legacy for the past 135 years.
This sixth generation enterprise has three generations currently residing. Theo and Diana manage Lalapa bush Camp our main camp and a home for the duration of your safari. Samantha is in charge of the game meat processing and ensures that no meat goes to waste from your safari. She also ensures that our hunters do not go hungry in the field. Ray has hunted the Eastern Cape and the rest of Africa extensively over the past decade and has experience in both plains and dangerous game hunting. He will make sure all safaris are well organised and that only the best hunting concessions and animals are available for your safari. Young Bridget and Murray are your chief "trophy inspectors".
Since the early 1980's Lalapa Safaris has been committed to the hunter. Our expert staff offers a superior service, with the aim of making each and every hunt the experience of a lifetime. We pride ourselves in offering top quality trophies and personal attention to every client, as well as being committed to wildlife and land conservation to preserve the hunting heritage for generations to come. The Kemp and Shone families have combined to offer 25 000 acres of privately owned hunting ground, with over 30 species of game within thirty minutes drive of the Safari Lodge. This must surely be some of the finest hunting ground in South Africa.
